Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes live text of Sunday's games via various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available through select stations for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week of the NFL season and following recent talk about two top teams being possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games were the number of penalties each committed. The Eagles committed them at crucial times meaning they kind of defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

However it proved good to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, to win the victory 21-17.

The Broncos boast the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They are number one in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos won that contest.

They had the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't always sending more than four defenders instead they might plug two LBs in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, we said on a program how Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They finished last season strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

New tight end their tight end has excelled significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows that the Broncos are a team aiming to prioritize the run, because you can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to throw anywhere, however they don't move the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, plus he's highly agile.

His strengths are his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, and finding varied release points to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass over the middle and over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and can pass under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

When you consistently rush it eats up time and forces the defence to be in play extended periods, and when you have a mobile QB the defence must cover the field vertically side to side. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and it seems Payton appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's fun for the coach to have a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. He can really develop him how he desires to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton has won a championship and now passed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having offensively is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with Nix helps shape him what he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're performing above average, that's a good place to hold the AFC West. All they need to do to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers in 1933, this team are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, this is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the West.

This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
