Nearly 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events swept through the state, producing powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Broad Destruction
Locals witnessed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in certain regions. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing power throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews working to handle the widespread outages.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately one thousand energy customers in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Rescue organizations received 598 calls for help across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, over 28,000 energy customers in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Damp conditions were expected to linger along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity predicted across different parts of both regions.
Health Warning
Health officials warned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
