That Gory Animated Film Conclusion That Stays With Audiences

Among every adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve personally watched, no other has lingered in my mind quite like the terror-laced finale of a viscerally violent as well as overwhelingly transgressive 2022 movie Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, the Spanish writer-director developed a dark, bleak and frequently brutal universe that included several minor , forlorn hints of optimism.

While The Unicorn Wars seems like it stemmed from a desire to push the medium even more, the director clarified that it was more a try to convey a universal, cross-cultural theme concerning “the shared root of each battle.”

That message is expressed by means of a squad of colorful pastel bears , obviously based on a well-known series of lovable characters.

Being raised in a society built around aggression and the defense industry, a lot of these animals are consumed by killing the mythical beasts, due to a sacred text that claims the bears they used to be rulers of the woodland, until these creatures drove them out.

A few did not entirely fallen for the indoctrination, , would rather try out narcotics or mate in the forest.

In contrast to their gentle counterparts, these vivid animals display sexual organs , obvious libidos.

For a certain particularly cruel, pessimistic creature, the character Bluey, the conflict with the unicorns turns into a route toward dominance — and especially to dominance over his softer, nicer brother the bear Tubby.

This bear acts as a tormentor and an obvious sociopath , and when fear takes over his group and takes his fellow soldiers individually, he grabs more and more control for himself, via progressively gory, damaging approaches.

Simultaneously, the horned creatures are enduring their own nightmare, through a growing, deadly beast in their woods.

“Initially, it seems like a humorous movie,” the filmmaker commented. “However it evolves into a more serious and sorrowful movie. And in the finale, it transforms into a scary feature.”

Unicorn Wars begins feeling a bit like one of the most quirky movies by a legendary animator, which find a wicked pleasure in allowing cartoon characters curse, fire weapons, or sex each other up.

Afterward it evolves into something more like a darker work by that same director, featuring progressively explicit brutality and a tangible link to genuine horror of conflict.

By the end, it is a full-on extreme drama bloodbath.

The horror that turns the film a perfect Halloween watch begins a lot earlier than that description suggests.

Unicorn Wars is one for the hardcore lovers of violence, for lovers of intense movies who wish to view a film they’ve never watched previously, and who can handle a story that offers absolutely no punches.

View it in a dark room free from interruptions, and the conclusion will crawl into your mind and linger.
